Shattered in Place

Hearts4 captures the paradoxical beauty of destruction and resilience. Inspired by the image of a lightning bolt shattering a marble cube, this sculpture comprises eight massive Carrera Italian white marble pieces, positioned in a radial formation, as if split apart from the center. The octagonal core symbolizes resurrection, while the mirror-polished flat surfaces and finely chiseled stippled sides create contrasting surface tension. This work honors the timeless tradition of storytelling in stone, echoing the permanence and importance of ancient civilizations. As we fall apart, there is always a way to come back together – sometimes requiring individual strength to reunite.
